NOTE:
Questions and rulings reflect 2002-2003 NFHS Rule Changes.
indicated
quizzes/items that have changes! Quizes 39-41 are new this year!
Each year basketball officials
spend much time reviewing rules to make sure that, when they get on the
court, they bring knowledge to apply to the situations they encounter.
On this page are links to
short (10 questions each) quizzes on the National Federation of High School
Rules. The questions come from information in a study guide released
through the state athletic associations for the various officials associations.
See LHSAA
organization officials page.
Each quiz is simple to take
(just click on the "True" or "False" button, according to whether you think
the ruling is completely true).
The quiz is scored (no one but
you will know how you did--unless you tell!!!) by clicking "Grade Test"
at the bottom of the form.
Correct answers and explanations
are found through the "View Rules" button on each answer. (The number
references are to respective rules, sections, and articles in the NFHS
Rules Book, NFHS Case Book, and NFHS Simplified/Illustrated Rules for 2001-2002
and 2002-2003.)
NFHS Rule book and NFHS Case
Book and NFHS Simplified/Illustrated are available from National
Federation of High Schools.
Of course, these answers
are my own. They don't have any official standing or anything.
